Description


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists a Director in the operation of an agency and plans and develops new procedures, formulates policy and prepares budgetary data.
Assumes responsibility for the agency in the absence of the Director and possesses signatory powers in such absence.
Exercises supervision over subordinate personnel.

UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION:
Assists the Director in coordinating programs, projects, and activities to achieve short and long range goals and objectives of the strategic plan.
Plans expenditures for budget preparation and Director's consideration.
Assists in determining departmental policies and planning long term programs.
Compiles reports and statistics and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
Prepares memoranda and non-routine correspondence.
Plans, guides and directs the research, analysis and preparation of specialized or technical reports in assigned areas of responsibility.
Conveys assignments to various organizational units.
Responds to complaints and inquiries from the public, and resolves problems and concerns.
Represents the agency to the public.
Performs related work.

Requirements



WORK EXPERIENCE:
Four years of working experience in assignment related field, two of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

EQUIVALENCY:
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted, but must include two years of administrative or supervisory experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
Travels to various locations.

Required Education

Bachelor Degree —
Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
Business Administration,
Field directly related to agency assignment,
Personnel Administration, or
Public Administration.
