Louisville Metro Government
Maintains, installs and repairs electrical systems, equipment and fixtures, and ensures that electrical codes are met.
Examples of Duties:
UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION -
Installs new electrical service to comply with state and national codes.
Removes and installs wiring to pumps and motors.
Troubleshoots all electrical problems.
Repairs light fixtures and ballasts.
Installs temporary wiring for events.
Repairs overhead and underground electrical equipment.
Aids in electrical design for new facilities.
Reads and interprets blue prints and plans to install electrical equipment.
Maintain records of electrical repairs.
Strings electrical wire.
Performs related work.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
Two years of electrical work experience at the journeyman level.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must work a varied schedule.
Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work.
Travels to various locations.
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 70 pounds.
Lifts and carries items weighing over 70 pounds in a team setting.
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements.
