Frost Brown Todd, a regional law firm of 950+ legal professionals and staff in fourteen markets, is currently searching for a Loan Document Assistant to join the CMBS Lending and Servicing practice group in our Louisville office. The Loan Document Assistant will assist the attorneys and business professionals within the practice group by typing, processing, reformatting, and tracking changes to closing documents for mortgage-backed security loans.
Job Responsibilities include:
Creating, revising, and proofing complex legal documents to specifications using expert word processing and advanced software knowledge.
Typing correspondence, reports, text and other written material from rough drafts, corrected copies, voice recordings, or previous versions.
Checking completed work for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.
Electronically sorting and compiling data, including retrieving, updating and merging documents.
Comparing documents and tracking document changes.
Converting PDF documents to Microsoft Word documents and reformatting documents.
Working with technical material, including preparing statistical reports and tables, and combining and rearranging material from different sources.
Expert level proficiency in Word and advanced level proficiency in Excel.
Minimum typing speed of 70 WPM.
Ability to convert documents from PDF to Word, and clean up converted documents.
Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80 percent of the work time when evaluating legal matters.
Knowledge of legal practices at a level normally acquired through formal training or its equivalent.
Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
