POWER YOUR FUTURE WITH CE POWER in our Field Services department as a Substation Technician. Utilize an advanced, comprehensive knowledge and skill level to safely and efficiently work independently and/ or lead in the installation, maintenance, trouble shooting, testing, and repair of electrical control systems and associated equipment assigned to Substation Construction and Maintenance (SC&M) group. Further develop the skills needed to effectively utilize the latest technologies in these areas.

As a Substation Technician, you will be responsible for:

Technician will verify that equipment, documentation and prints meet applicable specifications and standards and modify drawings to reflect as built changes.
Technician will assist others and may also work independently installing, adjusting, calibrating, and troubleshooting all high voltage electrical and mechanical equipment and associated systems assigned to SC&M.
Technician will be competent in the use of construction equipment, test equipment and basic tools required for routine maintenance and installation of equipment assigned to SC&M. Ex.-man lifts, transformer and breaker testing equipment, oil processing equipment, etc.

Requirements

-Employee may demonstrate equivalent work experience and training and meet all testing requirements necessary to qualify for this position.
-Must demonstrate the applications of mathematics, electrical theory, mechanical functionality and a comprehensive knowledge of the principals of operation of substation equipment, as required in fulfilling the job duties.
-Desirables Licensures and Certifications: NETA or NICET, Electrical Technician, Class A CDL.
-Working knowledge of both the English and metric systems of measurement.
-Must be able to recognize the electrical and physical hazards typical of this work. This includes handling energized conductors and wiring using the appropriate personal protective equipment.
-Education: High School Diploma.
-Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
-Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
-employee may demonstrate equivalent work experience and training and meet all testing requirements necessary to qualify for this position.
