Description

The Consumer Processing Specialist (CPS) provides exceptional, first-level, internal and external customer service by supporting the delivery of consumer financial services. Responsibilities include supporting borrowers with consumer loans from origination through the origination processes up to closing. This position also provides backup support for other consumer lending team members as needed. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS: Establishes, develops, and maintains strong internal and external customer relationships by coaching others and consistently providing quality service that is timely, thorough, responsive, and reflects high customer expectations. Works with Consumer Loan Officers to understand customer goals, and to deliver value-added/ constructive financial information.

Support the lending process by doing the following:
Serves as a key resource on the loan process. Clearly communicates process steps to the customer including, but not limited to: establishing mutual value, obtaining intent to proceed, receiving/processing applications, assisting with the decisioning of applications for customer requests.
Communicating decisions. Coordinating rate locks. Gathers and inputs appropriate customer information and assists credit team members to originate and submit the loan for approval.
Meets key milestone dates by proactively managing workflow including obtaining and communicating approval, providing appraisal per Farm Credit Mid-America procedures, ordering title, etc.
Works with customer to obtain documentation needed to meet closing conditions.
Complies with Farm Credit Mid-America processes and procedures by checking loans and being a resource for consumer lending partners. Monitors all required reports and addresses any issues identified in the reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
