Summary: Under direct supervision, and after completion of required orientation training, will perform tasks, such as: assisting in setting up tools, dies and equipment to operate roll forming machines to form material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams of the cross section. Load and unload parts on roll machines. Makes minor adjustments and performs coil and line changeovers. Earning potential: Trainee range is $15.75-$16.50/hr, with opportunity for pay-for-skill promotions and time-based pay adjustments. Apprentice at $16.50-$17.00; Qualified $19-$19.50/hr; Certified $20.35-$20.75 and Master $22.65-$23.15/hr. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Under direct supervision, perform tasks per procedures to operate a rolling machine. Loads and unloads parts from rolling mills. Performs quality checks per written instructions. Makes minor adjustments to rolls, and assists or under supervision, completes coil changeovers.
Responsible for guarding, crane operating/ coil handling and general housekeeping. Responsible for following established procedures for:
ISO-9002/D1-9000; STEPS program to include JIT, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma. Responsible for the following: assisting in the placement of raw material' assisting in the removal of parts and packing and cutting parts by hand, where applicable. Other duties may be assigned.

1-3 months related training or work experience, including machine set-up, metalworking or welding/fabrication. Basic computer skills. Blueprint Reading / SPC. Responsible for a working knowledge of: ERP Software/Business Systems, Raw Material Tickets, Work-In-Process/Finished Goods/Inventory Tickets, Set-up Charts, Rework/Defective Parts, End of Shift Paperwork, Route Sheets, Understanding of Tool Storage/Staging Operations. Willing to live within 30 miles of Shelbyville, KY. Ability to pass Work keys testing. Ability to work open shift and overtime as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on regular basis.
Preferred applicants will also have: consistent experience in manufacturing setting in set-up or machine operation/metal fabrication. Setting up and running equipment. Performing part inspections. Blueprint reading. Ability to demonstrate strong work history with good longevity at previous or current employers. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Set Hours — Monday-Friday: 3:00P – 11:30PM and overtime as needed. Shift premium adder of $1/hr.
$16.75 - $17.50/hr
