Alstom Signaling Operation, LLC
They will support our engineers with all CAD activities (we have a cell library but they will add new cells to it as needed) in both MicroStation and AutoCAD. They will be given opportunities to learn about the specifics of railroad circuits and our materials. We would also expect this person to help with preparing field tags and construction or as-in-service plan sets and digital copies for the customer. Help in document compliance will be expected as well. There will be the possibility of assisting engineers with lab testing (which will help this person learn our equipment and understand our circuits) and an occasional opportunity to travel to the field may occur. Time management and communicating scheduling needs for scope changes will be requested so feedback will be expected to be an honest assessment of estimated time needed for rework. As time allows, our CAD drafter may assist our material engineer with spreadsheets, quotes, reports, invoicing, and shipments. We are a small engineering office so everyone on our team wears several hats and everyone pitches in when there is an urgent customer need.
Associate's Degree is preferred for electrical technology, or electrical experience in CAD/schematic drawings. Working knowledge of detailing and CAD, ability to understand and apply electrical assemblies, and a working knowledge in MS office software are all required.
