Position Overview
This position participates in daily maintenance activities such as repairs, preventive
maintenance, replacements, inspections, testing, small capital projects and upgrades of
equipment and the plant.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities
· Work safely and be able to perform pre-job safety evaluations in all situations.
· Provide mechanical, electrical and instrumentation support for process
equipment (blowers, PD and Centrifugal pumps, motors, drives, gearboxes,
valves, conveyors, baggers, etc.) and other facilities at the Louisville, KY site.
· Install, rebuild and maintain site equipment.
· Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) Inspections and document findings.
· Perform predictive analysis on rotating machinery using industry standard
instruments.
· Ability to read, understand and interpret equipment drawings, P&IDs, schematics
and repair and installation manuals.
· Ability to troubleshoot problems, help in identifying root causes or problems and
make long term changes/repairs.
· Experience using hand tools, power tools, welders, cutting torches, grinders and
rigging equipment to accomplish construction and repair projects.
· Perform general job tasks as instructed by supervisor.
· Complete work orders and input information into SAP maintenance system to
record accomplishments and document repair.
· Support SAP maintenance, PSM-MI activity and environmental programs.
· Follow Plant and Corporate safety policy and adhere to Engineering standards.
· Good housekeeping practice is required during and after maintenance activity.
· Some work may be elevated, in confined spaces, in areas of high temperature or
may require use of a respirator

Minimum Qualifications:
· Desire and ability to work as part of a team is a must
· HAZMAT Training is required
· Able to respond to off-hours plant emergencies as a shared responsibility with
other mechanics
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to work flexible schedule
· Good verbal and written communications
· Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
· Basic computer skills and aptitude to improve
· Able to work through problems in stressful conditions and remain calm.
· Must have or meet requirements for a TWIC card
· Full Face Respirator use is required in some circumstances
· SAP knowledge is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
Physical: Walking, sitting, carrying, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking,
hearing and seeing, climbing (ladders of various heights), bending, pulling, pushing,
stooping. Lift 50-55 lbs. repeatedly. Assist others lifting 55 – 100+ lbs. Must be able to
wear all forms of respiratory protection, including the use of an SCBA inside a Level A
Hazmat suit.

Aptitudes: Must possess the ability to understand the meaning of words and their ideas,
as well as instructions and their underlying principles. Perform arithmetic operations
quickly and accurately, and possess eye-hand motor coordination.

Temperaments: Must have the ability to accept responsibility, perform duties under
stress, adapt to situations requiring preciseness, and adapt to changing duties and
responsibilities. Must be able to adapt to situations involving the interpretation of
feelings, ideas, or facts; be able to influence people in the opinions, attitudes, or
judgments; and be able to generalize, evaluate, make decisions, and perform repetitive
work.

Education Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED
· 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in chemical or related
industry.
