Office Assistant


AL Engineering, Inc.


o Provide administrative and clerical support to professional engineer and staff
o Prepare, maintain, and process correspondence including reports, invoices, proposals, etc. in an accurate and timely manner
o Maintain accurate files and records
o Prepare daily, monthly, or annual records/reports including tax and payroll
o Coordinate travel arrangements
o Operate office equipment including computer, scanner, copier, printer, telephone; perform minor maintenance such as changing cartridges
o Maintain multiple calendars and appointment scheduling
o Sort and process incoming mail
o Execute special research and compile reports
o Apply company methods, procedures, rules, or regulations to accomplish company goals or objectives
o Keep office tidy, maintain inventory and purchase supplies as necessary
o Other duties as assigned, including personal assistant tasks

Office environment, casual office attire. As a family-owned business, the working environment is less regimented than a large corporate counterpart.


o Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
o Ability to maintain confidentiality
o Ability to prioritize and organize effectively and work well under pressure
o Ability to respond to changing demands
o Ability to work independently with little supervision
o Ability to type with speed and accuracy, including 10-key
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; Quickbooks; and Adobe
o Knowledge of basic math and general office procedures



Work Schedule

Flexible - Will work with applicant — Schedule is workdays between 8am and 5pm, with the particular hours flexible. Position is 15 to 25 hours per week.


$10-$12/hr commensurate with experience



Required Education

High School Diploma — * Applicants must have at least a High school diploma/GED or equivalent
* Applicants must have at least 3 years experience
* Applicants must hold a Regular Operator (Class D) driving license
* Applicants must speak English
