This is an entry level position and applicants must be available 7am-3:30pm. The Purchasing Clerk ensures that all deliveries are to hotel specifications in accordance with purchase orders. They are directly responsible for the proper storing, handling and issuing of all items for the Food and Beverage Department. Specifically, you would be responsible for the following:
Assisting in the daily operation of the food storeroom, properly storing and rotating all stock so that items are fresh; involves transportation of heavy goods.
Placing orders and entering all merchandise into the computer.
Checking each item on the invoice against the applicable hotel document, weighing, counting, verifying prices on each item and checking these against specifications to verify accuracy of delivery.
Filling requisitions to authorized hotel outlets and advising supervisor of items that are low or out-of-stock so that they can be reordered.
Assisting in conducting month-end inventories.
Maintaining clean purchasing area, mopping, sweeping and taking out trash.
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry items up to 50 lbs. overhead or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing up to approximately 300 lbs. goods must be moved one or more items at a time, depending on size and weight at a continuous schedule
Basic mathematical skills necessary to track and receive specific volume deliveries.
Ability to read, write and speak the English language sufficient to complete forms and inventories, read billings and invoices and communicate with coworkers and purveyors
Ability to work in varying temperatures.
