Adult Student Center
The computer lab in the Adult Student Center-DT is available to any JCTC student who needs assistance with basic computer skills including but not limited to: navigating Blackboard; utilizing the Student Self-Service Center; accessing JCTC email; and using Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This position reports to the Coordinator of the Adult Student Center. Please note this is a volunteer position but is approved for students receiving work-study funding. The computer lab assistant will: 1. Provide instruction to students seeking assistance. 2. Assess student's computer skill level and determine a plan to reach their goals. 3. Provide excellent customer service.4. Maintain accurate records of time spent with students and services provided. 5. Assist Coordinator of the ASC with data collection, reporting, and website maintenance as needed. 6. Monitor appropriate computer usage.
1. Proficient with Microsoft office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 2. Proficient knowledge of JCTC email, Blackboard, and student self-service center. 3. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 4. Commitment to providing excellent customer service. 5. Ability to work independently. 6. Working knowledge of website development and maintenance.
Other — Flexible - will work with student's class schedule. Computer lab is open Monday through Thursday.

Position may qualify as an unpaid internship site depending on student's program of study. Excellent opportunity to build a resume' with experience gained. Please note this is a volunteer position but is approved for students receiving work-study funding.
